Lunar Frontiers

a talk by Dr. Pamela Gay, an astronomer, writer, and podcaster focused on using new media to engage people in science and technology.

Abstract: The Moon is the nearest celestial object and a source of constant temptation to explorers of the sky. From Galileo's telescopic observations 400 years ago to the manned and robotic explorations of the past 40 years, scientists have been trying to understand our place in space by better understanding the Moon. In this talk, you'll learn how NASA and other space agencies are currently exploring the Moon and how you can get involved through the Moon Zoo citizen science projects. From a planned Japanese robotic base to a dreamed of human colony in a polar crater, the Moon is about to become a busy place, and you can be a part of deciding where NASA goes next.
